June 13, 2008 The HMAA 2008 NSW & ACT Awards for Excellence, held recently at Star City drew 250 guests from the Tourism and Accommodation industries. Pro-Visual Publishing, a close supporter of the HMAA was a proud sponsor of two distinguished awards, the Conservation Eco Tourism and 4 Star Motel ACT.
“The HMAA Accommodation Industry Awards for Excellence are all about achieving and maintaining the highest standards in the accommodation industry”, said Garry Crockett, HMAA’s National Chairman. Stressing the vital role of accommodation operators in Australia, Mr Crockett congratulated and thanked the NSW & ACT Accommodation Industry for its continued growth and providing the highest standards of service to their guests.
Micheline Doray, Public Relations Executive of Pro-Visual Publishing attended the event to present two awards. Andrew Daff, Manager of the Lane Cove River Tourist Park took the stage to accept the Conservation Eco Tourism Award.
“We have a variety of eco friendly initiatives including water harvesting and recycling, habitat creation and biodiversity projects at our park. One area of our business that we would like to develop and grow is the Aboriginal heritage component of our Environment Management Plan. This involves a traditional Aboriginal camping experience where we will work in conjunction with local Aboriginal people to develop a tourism industry that they will be able to manage as their own within the National Park.”
Pro-Visual also presented the 4 Star Motel ACT Award to Country Comfort Greenway. Kevin Robe, General Manager accepted the award on behalf of his property. Executive Assistant Manager, Nicole Smith said confidently, “Our motel provides a feeling of home away from home. We are familiar with guests who visit us regularly and we’re trying to create more awareness in the local community about our motel. Our goal at the end of the day is to keep new and existing customers happy.”
Pro-Visual Publishing work hand-in-hand with HMAA to produce health, safety and wellbeing information resource charts for the industry and has been doing so for the past nine years.
