Jodi Lee Carrigan from Pyramid Vet Surgery in Gordonvale QLD won a $5000 Cash!

The Veterinary Industry Guide to Workplace Safety was displayed in the Staff area.. Jodi Lee Carrigan commented;

"The Veterinary Industry Guide to Workplace Safety 2009/10 helps to improve awareness of health and safety issues in the workplace as it assists the clinic to fulfil our commitments to maintain safe and healthy conditions, equipment and a work environment for all staff, patients and customers. The Guide helps as it assists us in undertaking our workplace responsibilities: • Provide customer care; • Provide information, instruction, training and supervision in areas where there is a risk to health or safety; • Identify and eliminate practice hazards wherever practical; • Consult with staff members on matters relating to their health and safety; Encourage staff to identify and report hazards/hazardous situation/s. Therefore, this Guide is a valuable resource of information for all staff member as it encourages us to uphold our expectations: • Take all reasonable care of our own , our colleague’s, our patient’s, and our customer’s health and safety; • Comply with the practice’s policy of workplace health and safety as well as the requirements of the health and safety legislation; • Record and report any injury sustained in the course of our employment. The Guide’s appearance is also a wonderful attribute in not only education staff but also our clients, visitors and all other personnel that enter the clinic, as it attracts their attention by using clear, easy-to-read language making it easier to understand. The sponsors of the Guide provide a great source of contacts for any questions or enquiries we may have. We at Pyramid Veterinary Surgery acknowledge workplace health and safety as an important commitment on a daily basis and we have chosen to address this topic by displaying two copies of the Guide within our clinic. "

Congratulations!
